Island Coastal Economic Trust
The North Island Coast Development Initiative Trust was created by the government of British Columbia in 2006 by the North Island-Coast Development Initiative Trust Act to support economic diversification on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast. Doing business as Island Coastal Economic Trust (ICET), the organization provides targeted funding and support for local governments, non-profit societies, Indigenous communities, industry associations and others in the Vancouver Island and Coast region.
The ICET service area includes the Cowichan, Alberni-Clayoquot, Nanaimo, Comox Valley, Strathcona, Mount Waddington, Sunshine Coast, qathet Regional Districts, as well as Salt Spring Island, Southern Gulf Islands, and Juan de Fuca electoral areas of the Capital Regional District.
