Emergency Services Overview

The CRD has a number of response and emergency planning services within its region. Some are organized on a regional basis, while others are the responsibility of individual municipalities.

Our regional Hazardous Material Response service is a great example of individual community fire departments working together to provide for the protection of life, property and the environment in the case of a dangerous chemical spill or other hazardous material events. Read more ![]()
The CRD acts as the local authority to the electoral areas, ensuring that we have strong emergency programs in place for the Juan de Fuca, Southern Gulf Island and Salt Spring Island Electoral Areas. Read more ![]()
