The Vergo Townhouses at 3808 Carey Road are now ready for occupancy
The construction of this new affordable rental housing project was made possible by a contribution from the Capital Regional District who made the land available, and by the Regional Housing Trust Fund which provided equity in order that rents could be affordable.
Vergo was built with the intention to provide primarily family housing that is affordable for families in the capital region. To be considered for housing, the maximum household income cannot exceed $64,000 annually at the time of application. Preference will be given to lower incomes as long as rent is deemed affordable. All two and three bedroom units will be reserved for families with a minimum of one child in residence.
Vergo is a LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) rated building. It is designed with upgraded insulation and windows, natural light, energy efficient appliances and light fixtures, low VOC paint and floor coverings and natural landscaping. All residents will need to participate in a short seminar regarding the building's systems so that you may benefit fully from the investment in energy efficiency.
