March 2017 - Hi! I just wanted to let you know how much my daughter enjoyed her spring break camp at Greenglade. Tedi and her friend Maddie just loved the pottery 'carnival of arts' camp. June 2015 - Thank you so much for donating the 10 day passes to Panorama Recreation for our Bike to Work Week prize pool. We had another successful Bike to Work Week this year with 40% of our staff riding at least one day. We covered just over 400 km in a total of 23 trips during the week. We had daily draw prizes as well as prizes for those who rode every day and to the person who clocked the most total mileage. We also had a fun competition going on between different groups in our workplace and the day passes were awarded to the winners. Panorama Recreation is used by many of our employees, so the day passes are greatly appreciated. Thank you again! Anna-Mary

January 2015 - Thank you for your donation towards our “Mixing It Up Conference” held Saturday, Jan 31st at the Mary Winspear Centre. Our sold out event was a huge success. We really appreciate your donation to our silent auction. Your donation helped raise approximately $3,000 that will be used towards community gardening related educational events and conferences. Thank you once again for supporting the Victoria Master Gardeners Association and our event.

March 2014 - It's wonderful being able to hear the instructor, rather than just watching what she or he is doing and trying to follow along. When you're facedown doing push-ups, for instance, that doesn't work very well! The hearing loop makes it possible for anyone who wears hearing aids with a telecoil to 'tune in' directly to the instructor's microphone and bypass the speakers. As far as I know, Panorama is the first rec centre in Greater Victoria to install this system. Well done! Suzanne M.

May 2013 - As cliché as it may sound, Be Your Best has changed my life. I've been a dedicated participant since fall 2012. Since I started, I have lost weight, inches, and transformed body fat into muscle. I feel great, I have more energy, and everything just seems easier. With the support of the instructor (Michelle Bourgeois), and the other participants - I've gone from being intimidated of being in the weight-room, to feeling right at home. 8 months ago I could barely sit through a 45 minute spin class for beginners, now I look forward to the challenge and enjoy every minute of it. Be Your Best isn't about losing 10 pounds in a week, it's about being a better version of yourself, through baby steps of education, exercise, and eating right. I love the program, and my enthusiasm for the class must be contagious, as my boyfriend, brother, and Mom have all join the Be Your Best team! Gillian B

May 2013 - I use to look at people that went to rec. centers as just totally different DNA than I had. I liked to read, cook and play music not get sweaty and hot, yuck. Well, through encouragement from my daughter I started BYB after noticing/complaining as I got older that I was markedly losing strength and needed help to move furniture around that I use to move with ease before. I started BYB with great trepidation but oh, my how that has changed. The first few sessions I gave it my all (and that wasn't very much) but I soon was able to work with heavier weights. I felt stronger, I actually worked up a little sweat and I liked it. Some of the first things I noticed, I didn't have to do a lot of self-talk to get myself to the gym. I had a routine that was made for me, I had tried it and perfected how to do it under Michelle's supervision and encouragement. I was then encouraged to try other drop in activities from kettle bell, TRX, and step classes. Some of these I liked and some weren't for me, but I tried them! There was nutrition advice and recipes to try. I may not look any different from the outside but inside I feel stronger, slimmer, and more positive in my outlook as I am in control and getting better in every way, not just older. I now consider myself a BYB lifer. Wendy

May 2013 - I joined Be Your Best this year in February, since then I have lost 18 lbs. and feel great! The combination of better eating habits and exercise worked . I've cut down on my carbohydrates and replaced them with healthier choices, and the variety of exercise routines offered by the BYB trainer have kept me interested in working out. I've registered for a second session mainly because the first was so successful and I feel this will encourage me to keep this lifestyle going. The trainers are always available for questions and suggestions and, also, a lot of fun. Highly recommended. Ilona
