Regular Customers

Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm

  • Peak depot hours: 9am to 12pm Mondays and Fridays, and any morning following a holiday

Saturday: 7am to 2pm

  • Peak depot hours: 11am to 2pm

Closed on Sundays and holidays.

Account Customers

Registered account customers with RFID tags have additional access hours for the kitchen scraps transfer station and the active face, Monday to Friday, 7am to 9am.

Hartland Webcam

Located at Hartland Landfill’s front gate, the webcam points down Hartland Avenue letting you know the current traffic and weather conditions.
  • If you don’t see a lineup, the wait time is under 15 min.
  • If you see a lineup starting to form on the right side of the image, the wait time is approximately 15 min.
  • If you see a lineup all the way down the Hartland Avenue, the wait time is over 30 min.
The camera will not collect any personal information and the images will not be retrieved or used for any other purposes.

Hartland Landfill Changes

Effective July 2, 2024 asphalt shingles and treated wood (painted, stained engineered wood products) will be banned from the garbage. Separated loads of treated wood and separated loads of asphalt shingles will be accepted for recycling or energy recovery at a reduced tipping fee. Read the media release or factsheet for more details.

Cover Your Load

All loads must be covered and secured in order to reduce litter on roadways. Vehicles arriving with uncovered and/or unsecured loads will be charged double the normal fee or be subject to a fine.
