As a “group of groups” representing a broad array of interests, membership in the GWI includes representatives from community and environmental groups, landowner organizations, local governments and recreational users.  Interested in getting involved?

GWI Coordination

The Capital Regional District provides coordination and logistical assistance to the GWI and helps to move strategy implementation forward. Specifically, the GWI Coordinator:

  • Assists with implementation coordination (financial management, some project coordination)
  • Liaise with member groups, facilitating meetings and ensure flow of communications to member groups
  • Funding liaison and budget management
  • Research/policy analysis
