Groups with a direct interest in the waterway are encouraged to join the GWI.

To have representation on the GWI, a group must:

have a geographic area of interest that includes Portage Inlet, the Gorge Waterway or the adjacent watersheds
have a mandate consistent with the vision and purpose of the GWI
be supportive of the GWI goals and objectives
