Construction on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail - Selkirk Trestle

Oct 29, 2024 (updated Oct 29, 2024, 5:15pm)

Routine repairs to the Selkirk Trestle will start in November - minimal to no delays expected for trail users.

Construction work to perform routine repairs to the Selkirk Trestle will occur between November and April 2025. Work is expected to be limited to below deck structural elements and is not anticipated to majorly impact trail users. Access through the trestle by watercraft will not be restricted; however, for safety reasons, all swimmers and watercraft should keep their distance from the barge and construction activity and must follow all posted signage.

Construction activities are being coordinated with BC Hydro Victoria to Esquimalt Cable Replacement Project, which will also have workers and a barge near the Selkirk Trestle during the construction window. This work is being completed as part of the CRD’s Regional Trestle Renewal, Trail Widening and Lighting Project. For more information please visit the project website.
