Peninsula Recreation Commission Releases Panorama Recreation 5-Year Strategic Plan

Apr 29, 2022

Victoria, BC– The Peninsula Recreation Commission, which provides recreation programs and services throughout the Saanich Peninsula, has developed, adopted and released the Panorama Recreation 2022-2026 Strategic Plan.

The new five-year strategic plan will prioritize and guide future initiatives for the delivery of recreational programs and services for the local community. The plan will ensure that the Peninsula Recreation Commission and Panorama Recreation staff will make informed decisions for the delivery of recreation programming and facilities that are effective, efficient and align with community need.

“I look forward to the next 5 years of our strategic priorities for recreation programs and services for the Saanich Peninsula” said Ross Imrie, Chair, Peninsula Recreation Commission.

Community engagement and research was undertaken to ensure that community needs, trends, and priorities on the Saanich Peninsula were identified. The analysis of the engagement and research findings assisted the project team and Commission in the development of the strategic plan.  A number of potential projects and space needs were identified and prioritized through the strategic plan.

The strategic plan is one of the key activities related to the Capital Regional District’s (CRD) commitment to recreation as part of the Recreation Community Need Summary identified in the CRD’s Corporate Plan.
