Victoria, BC — From October through November, invited residents will receive a letter and instructional brochure from the Capital Regional District (CRD) asking them to complete the Origin Destination Household Travel Survey.
Updated every five years, the Origin Destination Household Travel Survey data creates a profile of travel patterns in the region. Survey results provide the CRD, municipalities, First Nations, and provincial agencies with information critical for decisions on future transportation options.
"If you receive a letter asking you to participate in the CRD Origin Destination Household Travel Survey, please respond to the survey online or by phone. Your information provides essential data to help improve transportation planning in our communities," said Emily Sinclair, Senior Manager CRD Regional and Strategic Planning.
The survey takes 10-25 minutes, depending on the household size. Household participation is voluntary, and all information shared is strictly confidential. Participants will be entered to win one of several prizes.
R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd., a Victoria based research firm, is surveying on behalf of the CRD. Survey results will be available in mid-2023 and will show how regional travel changes over time. Visit the website for more information.
Proud to be recognized as one of BC's Top Employers and Canada's Greenest Employers, the CRD delivers regional, sub-regional and local services to 13 municipalities and three electoral areas on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Governed by a 24-member Board of Directors, the CRD works collaboratively with First Nations and all levels of government to enable sustainable growth, foster community well-being, and develop cost-effective infrastructure while continuing to provide core services to residents throughout the region.
