Victoria, BC – The Capital Regional District (CRD) is pleased to announce the election of District of Highlands Councillor Gord Baird as Chair and of District of North Saanich Councillor Celia Stock as Vice-Chair of the Regional Water Supply Commission (RWSC) for 2023.

The RWSC, a Commission of the CRD Board, provides leadership over the provision of high-quality drinking water and managing water supply catchment lands for local municipal governments and First Nation governments in Greater Victoria.

"As the newly elected chair of the Capital Regional District's Regional Water Supply Commission, I am honoured to take on the vital responsibility of securing a sustainable and dependable source of clean and safe drinking water for our ever-evolving region,” said Chair Baird. “It is imperative that we proactively plan and adapt to meet the current and future needs of our community."
