The CRD Invites Feedback on the Juan de Fuca Development Cost Charge Bylaw Update

Dec 03, 2024

Victoria, BC– The Capital Regional District (CRD) is in the process of amending the existing Development Cost Charge (DCC) rates found in DCC  Bylaw No. 2758 for the Juan de Fuca (JdF) Water Distribution System program.

The JdF DCC program has helped pay for costs associated with increased demand for water distribution infrastructure within the JdF water service area since 1999. JdF DCC rates will decrease in 2025 due to increased population density and the amount and type of development taking place in the JdF Water Service area.

We are now seeking feedback on the Juan de Fuca DCC Bylaw Update.  The development community, residents and First Nations located inside the Juan de Fuca Water Service Area including: Colwood, Langford, Metchosin, View Royal, Sooke, parts of Highlands, and Juan de Fuca Electoral Area (East Sooke) are invited to review the JdF DCC Bylaw Update and to take a brief online survey to provide feedback on the current JdF DCC program and the new proposed JdF DCC rates.

The survey closes January 9, 2025 @ 11:55 pm (PST).

Survey results will be shared with the Juan de Fuca Water Distribution Commission for review as part of the program update process.
