This park offers a quiet spot to escape the bustle of a busy day in town. Access is across from ArtSpring, on Jackson Road or from Creekside.
The park was named ‘Peace Park’ in 1992, on the occasion of Canada’s 125th anniversary. As part of the Peace Across Canada project, 12 trees were planted, representing our provinces and territories, and symbolizing the life, creativity and hope for the future that thrives in peace. The park is now home to an exquisite Japanese Garden, a joint project of the Japanese Garden Society and PARC, planted in dedication to the Japanese people interned during World War II. The pathway follows the creek, behind the library, to Creekside on Fulford-Ganges Road.
