Description
The CRD’s East Coast Interceptor and Northeast Trunk Bowker
sanitary sewer systems are made from large diameter cast-in-place brick and
non-reinforced concrete pipes. Based on results of CCTV inspection, about 1.1km
of the system in the City of Victoria and about 1.5m of the system in Oak Bay
are deteriorating and must be rehabilitated.
The pipes will be lined from the inside using a trenchless
restoration method, cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining to minimize above ground
disturbance. Phase 1 of construction which includes cleaning and CCTV
inspections will commence in early Spring. CIPP lining is scheduled for the
Spring/Summer and the project’s anticipated completion date is December 2024.
