Overview

Jeneece Place opened on January 23, 2012 and provides a welcoming and safe short-stay home for families whose children are receiving medical care at Victoria General Hospital, the Queen Alexandra Hospital or in local pediatric specialists’ offices.  The facility was inspired by the vision and efforts of Jeneece Edroff, a local youth who has undergone multiple surgeries at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver while her family stayed at Ronald McDonald House and who recognized the need for a similar place for families to stay while loved ones receive medical care in Victoria.

Owned and operated by the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, Jeneece Place is a 10-bedroom (10,500 sq. ft.) home on the grounds of Victoria General Hospital and is open year-round, 24-hours a day.

Building Cost

The project’s capital budget of almost $3.4 million was supported by community donors, including a one-time capital contribution of $250,000 from the Capital Regional Hospital District’s non-traditional projects capital grant program.
