How do I go green?

Consider buying soil in bulk to avoid all the plastic wrapping. Many companies will deliver loads of top soil, sea soil or garden soil.

You don’t have to start with new soil every year when you begin potting plants and gardening. Try to reuse some by mixing it with a smaller amount of new soil. Mix in some of your compost for an even richer growing medium.

Contact facilities directly regarding restrictions and charges. Always call before you show up with any soil.

  • The Environmental Story

Soil itself does not pose much of an environmental challenge, but the transportation of it does. We humans burn a great deal of fossil fuels just moving dirt and other fill from one place to another.
