The Capital Regional District has initiated a project to develop a Southern Gulf Islands Transportation Integration Plan (SGI TIP). The Plan will create a blueprint to move from ideas to action for new transportation opportunities on and between the largest Southern Gulf Islands: Galiano, Mayne, Saturna, and North and South Pender Islands (with links to Salt Spring Island and Sidney on Vancouver Island).
The project goal is to develop a plan for an integrated transportation service that includes walking and cycling networks, viable public transit options, and passenger ferries to supplement travel between the islands.
