Stage 3 water restrictions in effect for users of Tuam Water System on Salt Spring Island
Attention Cedars of Tuam Water System Users: Stage 3 water restrictions have been enacted due to very low well water resource levels, increased heat and added demand on the system. Stage 3 bylaws are now in effect and the following use of water is prohibited:
❌washing vehicles or boats
❌washing sidewalks, driveways, exterior windows and building surfaces
❌filling of ornamental fountains, swimming pools, hot tubs and garden ponds.
Residents are allowed to hand water (with a watering can or a hose with an automatic shut off valve) trees, shrubs and vegetable gardens one day per week between the hours of 4-10 am. For more information go to
