Project Board Releases Request for Qualifications for Residuals Treatment Facility

Dec 05, 2016

Victoria, BC– On Friday the Core Area Wastewater Treatment Project Board (Project Board) released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Residuals Treatment Facility at Hartland landfill, one of the major components of the Core Area Wastewater Treatment Project.

The RFQ invites interested parties to submit their qualifications to design, build, partially finance, operate and maintain the Residuals Treatment Facility over a 20-year term. From the submissions a shortlist of three qualified proponents will be invited to participate in the next stage of the competitive selection process, the Request for Proposals.

It is anticipated that the three proponents will be selected in March 2017, the preferred proponent chosen by the end of 2017, and construction on the Residuals Treatment Facility to begin in early 2018. The successful proponent will develop the final design of the facility and ensure that the facility meets the CRD’s commitments outlined in the Core Area Liquid Waste Management Plan.
